Voordat zij bij Amsted in dienst trad, was mevrouw Franson partner bij het advocatenkantoor Hopkins &amp; Sutter (nu Foley &amp; Lardner) in Chicago, waar zij van 1986 tot 1999 belastingrecht beoefende. Daarvoor was mevrouw Franson belastingadviseu r bij Ernst &amp; Young, en controller voor een offshore oliebevoorradingsbedrijf. Mevrouw Franson behaalde een B.S. in boekhouding en financi\u00ebn, summa cum laude, aan de Loyola University, en een J.D. cum laude aan de Northwestern University School of Law.
