Matthew J. Hower

Matthew Hower is the Vice President - Auditing at AMSTED Industries.

Mr. Hower began his career with AMSTED in 1979 at the company's Griffin Wheel division as a staff accountant. He was named plant controller in 1980, and manager of accounting in 1982.

Mr. Hower held numerous positions at AMSTED’s corporate office during the period of 1984 through 1989, serving as assistant manager of cost and accounting, manager of benefits administration and director of internal audit.

Mr. Hower was named controller at the Burgess-Norton division in 1991 and controller of Griffin Wheel in 1995.

He became treasurer of AMSTED Industries in September 1999.

Mr. Hower held the elected position of vice president – treasurer from January, 2006 until November, 2011.

Mr. Hower is currently the vice president - auditing at AMSTED Industries.

Mr. Hower earned his B.S.degree in accountancy from the University of Illinois and his M.B.A. degree in finance from the University of Chicago. He is a certified public accountant and a certified management accountant.
